Working and Advocating on Behalf of Maine’s Veterans
Maine Veterans in Need, MVN, is part of the larger statewide Maine Veterans Coordinating Committee, MVCC.
We meet the first Monday of each month at 3:00 PM via ZOOM. In June and October, we meet in person at locations of interest to the members. While there are official members of the MVCC, all Veterans are welcome to attend.
The Mission of the Maine Veterans Coordinating Committee (MVCC) is to function as a platform to share pertinent information across the veteran community including Congressional Delegation, Federal, State and local veteran’s organizations.
Many veterans rely on the VA for their benefits, both financially and for health care. Understanding what is happening with our Maine VA enables the veteran to make the most of the VA services. The State of Maine provides a number of services for veterans and the MVCC provides the opportunity to understand those benefits. At the same time, veterans have the ability to provide feedback on issues that are important to veterans.
The MVCC also provides the opportunity to tell our Congressional Delegation what legislative issues are important to veterans. Maine is fortunate to have this open dialogue between the VA, State, veteran organizations, and the veterans themselves.
Meetings: First Monday of each month at 3PM with the exception of July and August

To receive a grant, the organization or individual requesting the grant is to fill out the application and then brief the MVCC at a regular meeting as to the need. The MVCC will then vote on the grant request at the next regular meeting. If the need is urgent, the MVCC Chairman may suspend the regular meeting and convene a Special Session to discuss the grant and then
vote on it.
